gavrilos prinzip (2011)

kurzfilm / kunstguerilla aktion

aufgrund historischer wie aktueller anlässe, wurde aus der tat des attentäters / helden von sarajevo ein prinzip destilliert. dieses prinzip wird im künstlerischen rahmen verfolgt und in einen radikalen, zeitgenössischen diskurs um konspirative (kunst-) institutionskritik eingebracht.

ausgangspunkt der aktion ist das ehemalige palais khuenburg, geburtshaus von thronfolger franz ferdinand und das jetzige stadtmuseum graz. neben reliquien des ermordeten wird dort auch die zur verwendung gekommene waffe (eine 1910 FN browning) des attentäters ausgestellt, die entwendet wird. der kurzfilm ist einerseits eine dokumentation einer kunst-guerilla aktion, in der der künstler dem radikalen prinzip eines attentäters / helden (je nach historischer sichtweise) auf seinem letzten weg gegen übermächtige institutionen folgt.

andererseits ist der film eine persönliche auseinandersetzung mit radikalisierten individuen jeglicher politischer, religiöser, und sozialer couleur, die in letzter zeit traurige aktualität und präsenz erreichen. der künstler versetzt sich in eine rolle, in der realität und fiktion verschwimmen, setzt sich unmittelbar einer situation aus, deren ausgang er selbst nicht kennt (post body art) und erzeugt unmittelbar eine situation, die ihn an den rand seiner nervlichen belastung bringt. die hierdurch entstandenen emotionen werden durch das medium film und musik einem weiteren publikum vermittelt in einer performance, in der der künstler in traumartigen sequenzen von versagensängsten verfolgt wird, wächst sein unmut und zorn gegen das kunstestablishment und die kunstinstitutionen. er schläft endgültig ein und träumt gavrilos prinzip (als projektion hinter ihm).

art guerilla action and video

in consequence of historical and actual occations, the act of the assassin/hero of sarajevo is destiled into its principle. this principle is persued by the artist, within an artistic frame and introduced to a radical, contemporary discourse of conspirative criticism of (art) institutions. the starting point of the first application of the principle is the former „palais khuenburg“, the birthplace of archduke franz ferdinand and the present citymuseum of graz. beside relics of the assassinated, the weapon of gavrilo princip (a 1910 fn browning) was issued in the exhibition. the final destination is the contemporary art museum „kunsthaus“.

the short film on one side is a documentation of an art-guerilla action, in with the artist is following a radical principle into the last way of an assassin/hero against the kafkaesque art institutions. on the other side it is a metaphor on radicalised individuals of all kinds of the political, religious, and social spectrum, who are gaining a new renaissance in globalised world.
